Know what to specify.
SS square pipe is also commonly described as square tube. A complete enquiry states outside width and height, wall thickness, grade, finish and required length. Square bar is solid and is a different product; include the section description clearly in your requirement.
Specify the complete hollow section
Write the outside dimensions and wall thickness separately, for example as width × height × thickness, with units. State whether the section is square or rectangular. For replacements, provide a drawing or measured dimensions and any existing markings. A trade size alone may leave the wall thickness unclear.
Grade and surface finish requirements
SS304 and SS316 are the main grades we deal in. SS202 and SS410 can be enquired for applicable requirements; do not assume every grade is offered in every section. Specify the required finish, appearance or surface condition and any protective film requirement. The exact supplied grade and finish are confirmed in the offer.
For fabrication and maintenance purchases
Tell us the intended application and any project standard, dimensional tolerance or certificate requirement. Where the section forms part of a load bearing assembly, its suitability and dimensions must follow the design specification. A supply enquiry is not a structural design approval.
Lengths, quantities and delivery
Send the required lengths, number of pieces or total metres and delivery location. If cut lengths are needed, include the cutting list and ask us to confirm the supply arrangement. Small replacement and bulk enquiries are welcome. Delivery dates and commercial terms are agreed in the quotation.
