Before you order
Know what to specify.
For an SS sheet quotation, provide material grade, thickness, sheet length and width, surface finish and number of sheets. If quoting a gauge designation, confirm the actual required thickness in millimetres so the purchase specification is unambiguous.
Confirm thickness and sheet dimensions
List each thickness separately and state the length and width with units. Specify whether you need full sheets or have a cut piece requirement to be confirmed. Include dimensional tolerances or a drawing where the fabrication depends on a particular finished size.
Finish and appearance
State the surface finish required by the application, such as a specified 2B or brushed finish where applicable. Do not assume a sheet photograph identifies the actual finish. If protective film or cosmetic surface requirements matter, include them in the enquiry and confirm them in the final offer.
Grade and documentation
Specify SS304, SS316 or the exact material designation required by your project. Include certificate and inspection requirements before the order is finalized. Availability of a stainless steel grade does not establish suitability for every food contact, chemical or pharmaceutical application.
Sheet, perforated sheet or chequered sheet?
Plain sheet, perforated sheet and raised pattern chequered sheet are separate purchase requirements. Identify the form you need. For perforated sheet, state hole shape, hole size, pitch and dimensions. For chequered sheet, include pattern requirements and how thickness is being measured.
